Provide them with a safe, quiet place to study with the tools they need. Thomas Lilley, founder of TJL Development, realized that 80 percent of the student housing was built in the early 1980’s. The infrastructure was outdated and didn’t provide today’s essential requirements, such as high-speed Internet access and parking. The students were lacking the security and accoutrements they had become accustomed to at home. TJL Development’s plan is to pioneer fine living for today’s academic. By building small self-contained projects, complete with security, up-to-date technology, a bathroom for every bedroom and a washer/dryer in every unit; it offers today’s student a home away from home with the much-needed edge to succeed. “This new style of student housing will give the student a more conducive place to live and study than today’s crowded dorms and libraries,” says Lilley, “The units will be focused on a more metropolitan feel with stainless steel options, large windows and granite countertops. ” Looking towards the future, TJL Development will develop student housing on 10 college and university campuses beginning a nation wide expansion, emerging as “The Place” for student housing.
